Jordan Smith brings years of experience working in and around political operations, most recently serving as the digital content writer for Ron DeSantis for President. Prior to her campaign work, she interned with The Ingram Group, where she served as a state and federal lobbyist aide in both Nashville, Tennessee and Washington, DC. 

Before graduating from Vanderbilt University with Bachelor of Science degrees in political science, English, and education studies, and earning a minor in human and organizational development, Jordan fostered key relationships and supported government officials across Tennessee, serving in the offices of Governor Bill Lee and Congressman Mark Green (TN-07). Ahead of attending Vanderbilt, she left her hometown of Rome, Georgia as a Georgia Young Author and co-author of a financial literacy curriculum policy proposal through The University of Georgia Policy Journal.

Stemming from her first experience in Washington, DC as a fellow with The Fund for American Studies and The Ronald Reagan Institute, Jordan has remained an outspoken voice for shaping policy and the political scene as a published author and freelance content writer. 

While she lives in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC now, Jordan is passionate about international relations, foreign policy, and worldly education, due to her firsthand experience as a U.S. Department of State Gilman Scholar in London, England, Paris, France, and Rome, Italy.

When she’s not supporting the Cogent public affairs and government relations teams with strategic communications efforts and congressional analysis, Jordan can almost always be found at a trivia night, on a tennis court, or convincing herself she’ll finally get to writing a book.
