Meridian and Cogent discuss key bilateral issues in Mexico City

As the United States and Mexico engage in ongoing negotiations around trade and migration, Cogent’s Senior Vice President, Shellie Purvis, joined the Meridian Group for a week-long study on US-Mexico relations. Meridian, in partnership with the U.S.-Mexico Foundation, took 20 American policy influencers to Mexico City for the U.S.–Mexico 360 Public Diplomacy initiative. This tour gave delegates a 360-degree view of U.S.–Mexico relations along with a glimpse into Mexican culture. Discussions revolved around Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s approach to both domestic and international affairs, with a particular focus on the new administration’s policies on tariffs, migration, energy and corruption.
