Biography
Gina Mahony has more than 25 years of experience working with members of Congress, federal agencies, and the White House to advance the interests of her clients.
Gina spent 11 years on Capitol Hill, working for four members of Congress. For more than five years she served as a senior policy and political advisor to Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD). In addition to her work in the Capitol, Gina worked at AMERIPAC, Leader Hoyer’s leadership political action committee. While on Capitol Hill, Roll Call, a daily newspaper covering Capitol Hill, recognized Gina for her bipartisan relationships, and her ability to develop policy and legislative solutions.
Gina left Capitol Hill in 2008, and spent four years at one of the most successful lobbying firms in Washington, D.C. Her work with corporate clients, trade associations, and coalitions impacted major pieces of legislation including the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the Affordable Care Act, student loan reform, and regulations at the U.S. Department of Education. Before starting Domer Consulting in 2016, she served as the senior vice president for federal government relations at the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
Gina was born in Washington, D.C., raised in Northern Virginia, and earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree at Boston University.
