CREATING A THOUGHT LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK FOR A TOP TECH COMPANY

How We Did It

A standout tech startup turned to Cogent to create a first in class media training, public affairs, thought leadership and partnership strategy for their nascent communications shop. Taking its inspiration from summer 2020’s social impact and justice movement, our communications strategists explored the demographics of creators, mothers, educators, fathers and NGOs whose businesses and lives had been turned upside down by the pandemic, but who continued to look for inspiration from the “happiest place on the internet.” Cogent designed a media training for the company’s top communications executive. We developed key messages and talking points and held mock interviews with in-depth questions to prepare her for increased engagement with the press and as a corporate thought leader at events and on panels. Through our preparations and training, Cogent successfully expanded the company’s presence on panels, podcasts, broadcast television and print media, and expanded their reach to powerful third-party allies and corporate partners.
