ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL QUANTUM INITIATIVE

Two leading nonprofit scientific societies sought our expertise on creating a national initiative to raise awareness of and investment in optics and photonics – the science and application of light. We launched a coalition of industry and academic stakeholders and showcased the impact of photonics on our everyday lives. Within a year, the coalition became a credible thought leader before Congress, the administration and the photonics community.

We guided the coalition in its push for authorizing legislation that would establish a National Quantum Initiative and centralize the funding structure of quantum information science. In addition to engaging with members of Congress, the administration and other stakeholders, we oversaw the development of coalition-led white papers, secured media placements, launched social media channels and implemented various other tactics to drive our messages home. The result was our nation’s first National Quantum Initiative.
