Meet the Fall 2024 Cogent Fellows

Cogent Strategies is pleased to welcome its new class of fellows for Fall 2024! These Cogent fellows bring an array of early career experiences and perspectives and are an integral part of the work we do with our clients. We’re excited to have them on board!

Meet Megan Adam

Megan is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Environmental Planning in May 2024. While at Boulder, she served as a voting member of the Arts and Sciences Student Government, advocating for student organizations and enhancing campus life. Additionally, Megan played a vital role on the communications team at the CU Environmental Center, where she promoted essential environmental initiatives within the community. Fueled by her passion for environmental advocacy and community engagement, Megan has gained diverse experience across various roles. She worked for Representative Joe Neguse (D-CO) and contributed to the public affairs team at the Environmental Protection Agency. She also supported operations in the office of Governor Jared Polis, gaining valuable insights into public service. Outside her professional pursuits, Megan enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring the great outdoors, along with thrift shopping and uncovering hidden gems in Washington, DC. 

Meet Alexandra Bayer

Alex Bayer is a recent graduate from Duke University who double majored in psychology and political science with a concentration in security, peace, and conflict. Her previous experience includes working for Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) on the Senate Special Committee on Aging and Michael Smerconish, the independent-leaning radio-show host and CNN correspondent. While at Duke, Alex was deeply involved in conducting research at Duke Law School’s Wilson Center for Science and Justice, aiming to find strategic solutions to legal problems by improving accuracy and equity in criminal cases. She was also involved in American Grand Strategy, a program dedicated to understanding America’s role on the global stage by interacting with national and world leaders. Outside of work, Alex enjoys traveling, playing tennis with friends, and trying new restaurants.
