LAUNCHING A GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN TO INCREASE AWARENESS AND DRIVE ACTION

How We Did It

Cogent was tasked with developing a brand, messaging and outreach strategy to educate members of Congress about the need to reform the nonprofit tax status of large credit unions. Cogent built a grassroots audience by utilizing the existing membership of the client and launching paid advertising on social media.

Over a three-month campaign, ads were served nearly one million times, resulting in the engagement of over 18,000 new fans. Cogent also developed a campaign brand, website and creative elements and launched associated social media channels to reach and educate our target audience. Since the start of the campaign, we have significantly increased awareness of this issue and put our client’s opponents on defense.
